For My Tweet-Heart

Hey there! It's time for another Product Spotlight at DeNami Design! Today we're featuring the Tweety Bird Border K83!!! Isn't it just too cute for words?!?!

One of my favorite things about this stamp is that the images are spread far enough apart that they are super easy to ink up individually! Here I inked up the two tweeties on the left first and stamped them. Then, I stamped the scalloped heart image. Then, I inked up the two tweeties on the right and stamped them. I stamped the Small Heart Outline within the scalloped heart and then onto a piece of patterned paper. Then, I inked up the center tweetie all by himself, stamped him into the center of the patterned paper heart and again onto a different piece of patterned paper. A little paper piecing, coloring and VOILA!

The sentiment was created in Microsoft Word. Kinda fun, huh?!?! I like it!

Want to see some more super creative and fun ways to use the Tweety Bird Border stamp??? Head on over to the DeNami Design Blog to see what my fellow DT gals created!!! These girls are SO INCREDIBLY TALENTED!!! And...as a reminder...the Tweety Bird Border is on sale this week for 10 percent off!!! YAY!

Happy Holidays!

Hello! Happy Holidays! Here's a peek at how my holiday cards turned out this year!!!

The trees, owl, and fox are from "Woodland Winter" by Taylored Expressions!!! Aren't they totally ADORABLE?!?!?! I colored them with Copic Sketch Markers and then added some touches of glitter for snow!

The blue and kraft panel was handstamped with DeNami Design's "Falling Snow E94"---(AKA Charlie Brown snow *wink*). The snowflake punch is by Martha Stewart and the patterned paper is Winter Twig by Little Yellow Bicycle.

Here's a close-up:

Hope you're having a wonderful, fun-filled holiday season!!!

Baby Girl

Hi there! My cousin is expecting her first baby (a girl) in early November. My mom, my SIL and I pitched in for her shower gift---the bedding for the baby's crib, which I then used as inspiration for the card that will accompany the gift.

Here's a photo of the bedding:

Photo from Babies R Us website.

And here's my creation:

I embossed the Large Daisy Blossom on vellum to try to capture the look of the embroidered flowers on the sheer overlay. I also scored vertical lines in the bottom panel (although it doesn't show up in the photo at all) to represent the crinkly layer under the embroidered overlay. I think the chocolate brown, baby pink, and white color combo is really sweet for a baby girl. And the Leafy Vine image on the top panel is a pretty close match to the leaves on the bed sheets.

I hope you like my creation for today!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite DeNami Design Products

Happy Friday, blog friends!!! Today it's my turn to share some of my FAVORITE products from DeNami Design!! Boy oh boy, this was a TOUGH decision! There were SO MANY things I wanted to include on this list!!! Alas, here are my Top 7:

And here are a couple of Valentine's Day projects I made using some of my FAVORITES:

This little package is for my mom! I filled a 3x3 Clear Boutique Box (DeNami Design) with her favorite candy, Good and Plenty, and decorated it in pink, black and white (the same colors as the candy)!

This one is for my dad! It's actually a container of wasabi-flavored almonds! I just used my DeNami stamps and some cardstock to dress it up!!!

Visit the DeNami Design Blog to learn more about WHY I chose these particular products as my favorites!!!

I also wanted to share how I keep track of which DeNami Design stamps I own. This handy little binder was simple and inexpensive to make. Plus, it's small enough to carry in my purse/bag when I attend stamping conventions, so I don't accidentally purchase any stamps I already have at home.

I bought this small three-ring binder at Target. It measures 7-1/8" x 8-7/8".

I created four dividers with aqua and lime cardstock and some Avery Note Tabs. The letters on the tabs represent the codes on the DeNami Design stamps. So, all of my A, B, C, D, and E stamps are in the first section of the binder and so on.

Here's a peek inside:

The white sheets are just printer paper cut in half. Since it's rather thin, I used reinforcements around the punched holes. I measured out the boxes and drew in the stitched lines. If you wanted to keep things super simple you could eliminate this part of the design. I stamped each image (in numerical order) and wrote the code and name of the image below it. As you can see, I made sure to leave some blank spaces for future purchases *wink*!

The larger the images, the less I put on each page. Some pages only contain one image.

Thanks for stopping by today!!! I hope you enjoyed my projects! Have a wonderful weekend!

Twine

Hey there! It's time for another SUPER FUN challenge at DeNami Design!!! This time around the challenge is to create a card/project using TWINE!!! DeNami stamps are not required this time around, but we'd LOVE to see you use them!! Also please be sure that the project you submit is something you've recently created and is combined with no more than TWO other challenges. If you happen to use twine from The Twinery, please list the colors. The Twinery is giving the lucky winner of this challenge a sampler pack of their twine!!! Talk about an AWESOME prize!! Click HERE for all of the challenge deets!

Here's my creation:

My intention was for the little french knots to look like buds on the Large Winter Tree P93 (one of my absolute FAVORITE images from DeNami Design). Since the twine is green and white, they ended up looking very much like the springtime buds on our trees here in the mountains. You see, it snows up here until the end of May, sometimes even the beginning of June. But the aspen trees are always anxious and start budding LONG before our final snowfall.

I created the plaid panel with the Three Line Border N128 stamp and added the sweet little birdhouse from the Spring Chicks Stamp Set PF 38! The "Thinking of You" sentiment is from the All Occasion Sentiments Stamp Set TR16 and pretty much fits perfectly on the Double-Ended Banner Die (Papertrey Ink). The fancy edge was created with the Bracket Edger Punch (EK Success)---it embosses along the punched edge---isn't that cool?!?! I LOVE IT!

I scored the banner twice at each end and then folded it to add dimension (Thanks to my inky friend and fellow DT member, Michele, for that idea *wink*!). And I learned how to tie the french knots awhile back by watching a great video tutorial (click HERE).

So...are you ready to play along? Remember to visit the DeNami Design Blog for all of the details and for more creative inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!!

DeNami Product Spotlight: Sweetheart Mimi

It's time for another Product Spotlight at DeNami Design!! Today we're featuring the newly released Sweetheart Mimi!!! I have always LOVED Mimi---she's so chic and stylish! Plus, she's lots of fun to color and/or paper piece!

I stamped Sweetheart Mimi onto an oval that I cut with my Petite Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders). After coloring Mimi with my Copic Sketch Markers, I flipped the Nestabilities oval upside down (so the smooth side was facing up), placed it on top of the die cut and used it as a mask. I then applied Rose Bud Memento ink with a sponge around the inside edges. I've seen lots of people use this technique in blogland, but had never tried it. I'm really happy with the results. Here's a closer look at Mimi:

This was also the first time I've ever used a doily on a card! I found these heart-shaped doilies at Michaels and thought they were a perfect combo with my new Martha Stewart Lace Heart Edge Punch!

So...what do you think? Ready to make some Valentine's Day cards? Be sure to visit the DeNami Design Blog for more inspiration from the amazing Design Team!!! And check out the on-line store for LOTS of fabulous stamps and supplies to help you create your Valentines!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and for all of your sweet comments!!!

Friends Fur-Ever

Today is an exciting day because it's time to kick off the first DeNami Design Challenge of 2011!!! This time around it's a Sketch Challenge! Click HERE for all of the details!

Here's the sketch created by my fellow DT member, Laurie (isn't it fabulous?):

And here's my creation:

I have been so anxious to ink up the new Cuddly Cats PF46 from DeNami Design, so I KNEW I wanted to use them in this card! Aren't they ADORABLE?!?!
I hand stamped the argyle panel using a combination of the Harlequin Border and Stitched Border stamps from DeNami Design! After doing so, I made the executive creative decision to turn my middle panel so that it worked better and showed off more of this argyle panel...hope that's okay *wink*

To make the cats look like they were sitting on a wall I used my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and scored two horizontal lines. Then, I flipped my paper 90 degrees and scored shorter offset lines to look like bricks. I was pretty content with it, but then my friend, Vicki, who works at the local Archivers suggested I ink it up to emphasize the scored lines! So, I rubbed Rich Cocoa Memento ink all over the surface of the panel and VOILA! Love the results!! Thanks, Vicki!

I stamped the Cuddly Cats two times each, colored them with my Copic Sketch Markers, fussy cut them, and popped them up with Pop Dots for added dimension. That cat on the left looks just like my sweet little Oliver James---he always tucks his paws under like that! It's so stinkin' cute!

And how about that sentiment?!? Such a sweet play on words, huh?

So, what do you think? Are you ready to play along? I hope so!!! I look forward to seeing your creations!!! It's always so much fun to see all of the different ways people interpret the same sketch!! Head on over to the DeNami Design Blog for all of the deets and to check out some amazing inspiration from the Design Team!!! It's sure to get your mojo going!

Yellow

Hi there! The most recent One Layer Wednesday Challenge is to use YELLOW! Here's what I came up with:

That's the new little Giraffe E140 from DeNami Design! Isn't he ADORABLE?!?! I masked him off and then stamped the Polka Dot Background N133 in Thatched Straw VersaMagic---I'm totally in love with this ink color these days!!

I used my Martha Stewart Scoring Board to score the lines above and below the Small Baby Script E68 (DeNami Design). I really like how it adds a clean and finished look to the overall design.

I embossed just the bottom portion of the card. I recently saw Christina MacLaren do this on a set of thank you cards she made, and I really liked the effect. So, I thought I'd give it a try! (Thanks for the inspiration, Christina!)
That's all for today! Hop on over to Susan's blog, Simplicity by Late Blossom, to find out how you can play along in this challenge and to see all of the amazing cards the other participants have created!

With Love

Hi there! Some of my fellow DeNami DT gals have been talking about and participating in the Color Q Challenges recently, so I thought I'd check it out!!! And when I saw the most recent color combo (ahhhh...GORGEOUS), I just knew I had to play along!!!

Here's what I came up with:

I inked up my Three Line Border N128 stamp (DeNami Design) in black ink and created a criss-cross pattern on white cardstock. Then I punched out the scalloped heart. The tiny hearts in the center are from the newly released Hearts Stamps Set PF43 (DeNami Design)---LOVE THOSE! I just stamped them in aqua ink and cut them out to create a trio.

The whimsical little "with love" sentiment is from the Love Sentiments Stamp Set PF42, which just released on January 1st! I LOVE how the "i" is dotted with a teeny heart! My parents gave me a Michaels gift card for Christmas, and one of the things I bought was the Lace Heart border punch from Martha Stewart! I think it's so pretty!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're having a fantastic week! Be sure to stop by the Color Q Challenge Blog for all of the details about how you can play along and to see all of the AWESOME cards created by the other participants!

Mud-liscious

In the mountains we fondly refer to springtime as "mud season." That's probably why I fell in love with this quote when I saw it:

"The world is mud-liscious and puddle-wonderful" ~e.e. cummings

This is another card I created for the auction at my friend's school. No stamps involved (shocking, I know!), just patterned paper and punches! I included the above quote inside the card as well!

The umbrella and wellies were cut from patterned paper (Autumn Leaves). Gotta love the wellies! One of these days I need to get a pair of those! They're just so darn cute!

I made the buttons with my Martha Stewart embossed button punch! Love that tool! It's such a handy way to create "buttons" in ANY color!!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your week is off to a GREAT start!
