Our neighbor and good friend recently had extensive back surgery, so I made this card for him.

Polka Dots

Hey there! It's time for another Product Spotlight at DeNami Design! Today we're featuring the Solid Polka Dot Border!

I decided to use the Solid Polka Dot Border to create some fun, colorful little tabs for these mini Baby Congrats cards! It was SO SIMPLE! I just stamped the image in different colors, cut them out, cut them in half, and then adhered them to my focal panels!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #105

Hello there! I recently learned about Tuesday Morning Sketches from one of my newest in-real-life stamping friends (Thanks, Theresa!!!)! And it just so happens that I had a little bit of time to get inky this weekend, so I decided to play along! Here's the sketch:

The Round Leafy Tree image from DeNami Design is one of my favorites! I LOVE the curly branches and the dainty little leaves! SO PRECIOUS! The patterned paper is from the Twig collection by Little Yellow Bicycle----TOTALLY swoon-worthy!!! The green actually has a woodgrain pattern to it, which I ADORE! And the patterns, colors, and graphics are absolutely FANTASTIC!!!

DeNami Product Spotlight Day!

Hey there! It's Product Spotlight Day at DeNami Design! Today we're featuring the Whimsical Oval Frame J141. This stamp makes a gorgeous frame, of course, but I wanted to try to do something different with it. Here's what I came up with:

I began by stamping the Whimsical Oval Frame eight times on various pieces of patterned paper from the Clothesline collection (Little Yellow Bicycle). I cut out the center ovals and set them aside. Then, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I stamped the oval frame four times, turning my paper 90 degrees each time. Then, I chose four of my previously cut patterned paper ovals and adhered them to the ovals on my focal point. Then, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig again to stamp the oval four more times in between the four ovals I previously stamped and adhered patterned paper ovals to their centers as well.

I found this GIANT button in my White Boutique Buttons collection from DeNami Design. The sentiment is from the Everyday Greetings Stamp Set PF29, and I stamped it onto a banner cut with the Double Ended Banner Die from PTI. And I thought the aqua and white baker's twine from Whisker Graphics was a nice detail!

January Calendar

Hi there! Here's a fun little project I created using some of my favorite DeNami Design stamps and a few calendar building supplies from Papertrey Ink! (I've included a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.) 

I used a white uni-ball signo pen to add snow to the Large Winter Tree and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way it turned out! I drew the snowbank freehand, cut it out, edged it with a Cool Shadow BG10 Copic Sketch Marker, and distressed the edges to add texture. If you follow my blog, then you know that paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques. Plus, my talented blog friend, Paulina, has created a number of super cute cards where she paper pieced these little tweety birds. I just had to try it! Here's a close-up:

I trimmed down the pre-printed calendar square so that I could mat it with some wintery patterned paper. And I intentionally left off the year, so that I could use this January panel again next year by simply changing out the calendar square in the corner.

When I bought the calendar building supplies from PTI I had grand plans to make a bunch of 2011 calendars and give them to friends and family for the holidays. Well...that didn't happen, so plan B is to create a calendar panel each month and share it with all of you here in blogland!

I used Karen's fabulous sketch (below) and images from "The Whole Cycle" (Practicing Creativity Designs)! I love how Courtney's sets always contain lots of separate pieces. For example, the flowers are a separate stamp, so you can add them to the flower basket on the front of the bike, use them as a border, or load up the cute little wagon with them like I did here! So much FUN!
