Warm Wishes

Hey there! Just popping in for a quick post to share a card I created for the most recent CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! I always LOVE Laura's sketches!!! Check this one out:

And here's my take on it:

I couldn't resist paper piecing the sweet little cup of cocoa from "Hot Concoctions" by Paper Smooches! And I found that adorable flower button in my bag of Harvest Boutique Buttons from DeNami Design! How lucky was that?!?! YAY!

The inside of the card says "Warm Wishes." CUTE! I'm going to send this to one of my Pittsburgh friends for her birthday! Hope she likes it!

***THANK YOU to all of you for your congratulatory comments and e-mails about my card being chosen as one of Paper Crafts Magazine's WCMD winners!!! You are SOOOO super sweet! I still can't believe the news! I keep going back and checking the Paper Crafts blog post to make sure it's for real! HA!

I am a bit behind in blogland because my computer died on Saturday morning. Lovely...right?!?! So, I'm in limbo right now working from a borrowed computer. I promise to get back into the swing of things and catch up with you all as soon as possible!

Many Thanks

Hello! Our friends/neighbors recently had a party to celebrate the completion of the main floor of their mountain home! They've been working on the house for five years and have done a lot of the finishing work themselves. It's an absolutely gorgeous home! You can definitely tell that a TON of heart and soul was put into every detail!

I wanted to send them a special thank you note for their hospitality and thought this was the perfect opportunity for me to ink up a stamp that I bought back in May when we traveled to Santa Fe, NM. The image is totally reminiscent of the southwestern style my friends have incorporated into their home!

I hope they like it! What do you think???

As soon as I saw "Chubby Chums" from Paper Smooches, I knew I HAD to buy it!!! The chubby little creatures in this set are SO STINKIN' CUTE!!! Plus, I thought it would be "purrr-fect" for creating a card for our awesome cat-sitter!!!

Lawnscaping Challenge #15

Hey there! First of all---THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of your sweet comments on the DeNami + Lawn Fawn Blog Hop!!!! You guys are THE BEST!

Today I wanted to pop in really quickly to share a card I made for the most recent Lawnscaping Challenge!!! I feel like it's been SOOOOO LONG since I've had a chance to participate in any challenges! I'm really looking forward to getting back into the blogland groove!!

Here's my creation:

I've heard of "Christmas in July." Is there such a thing as "Christmas in August"?!?! *wink* I think it's the hot weather down in town. It's making me crave snow, which in turn gets me excited for the upcoming holiday season!

I distressed the snow banks, added a touch of shading with Copic Markers, and then added a touch of sparkle with some DeNami Extra Fine Sparklets Glitter! I also distressed the edges of the patterned paper panel! (Don't ya just LOVE those patterned papers?!?! Jillibean Soup...ahhhh...)

Here's a closer look:

I am in LOVE with this Critters in the Forest set from Lawn Fawn---so whimsical and sweet---and so fun to paper piece!

I "stitched" the patterned paper panels together with the Zigzag Stitch Border from DeNami Design! The sentiment is also from DeNami---just released on July 1----LOVIN' that playful font!

So...what do you think? Are you ready to play along??? Hop on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog for all of the deets!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're having a FABULOUS weekend!

Have you seen this cutie???

Hello! It's Product Spotlight time at DeNami Design and today we're featuring this cutie:

Isn't he the sweetest little thing?!?! And I think he's perfect for BABY cards! Here's my creation:

I thought it would be fun to give him some friends. So, I stamped him a bunch of times in a row (using masking and my handy dandy Stamp-A-Ma-Jig). Then, I stamped him several more times on scrap pieces of cardstock, cut them out, and layered them at different heights to add dimension.

I also used the Small Baby Script E68, which I absolutely LOOOVVEEE, and the Polka Dot Background N133!

Be sure to visit the DeNami Design Blog to see all of the creative ways my fellow DT gals and Guest Designer, Dana, used the Giraffe image too!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're having a FABULOUS week!

The Old Pickup

Hi there! Today I'm sharing a card I created based on the most recent Tuesday Trigger photo over at the Moxie Fab World! Here's the inspiration photo:

LOVE LOVE LOVE this color combo! To me, this looks like a porch on an old country farmhouse. That, in turn, made me think of old fashioned pickup trucks (I know...my mind works in mysterious ways *wink*). So, here's what I came up with:

That little pickup truck is part of the Cars and Trucks Stamp Set TR28 from DeNami Design---TOTAL CUTENESS! I stamped and colored it twice with Copic Sketch Markers, cut both images out, and popped them up for dimension. Then, I added some Crystal Lacquer to the body of the truck and some sparkle to the headlight with a Spica glitter pen! The embossed brick background is a new (to me) Tim Holtz embossing folder that I bought during my visit to Artsy (our new local stamp shop in Colorado)!

I hope you like my card for today and feel inspired to get inky!!! Remember to head on over to the Moxie Fab World for all of the Tuesday Trigger details and to check out what all of the talented participants have made!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

***And one more quick note----There's still time to create a BOY card for the DeNami Design Theme Challenge! The challenge ends tonight at 11:59pm PST! There's a $20 gift certificate up for grabs!!! Click HERE for all of the deets!

Home Tweet Home

Hello! It's Product Spotlight Day at DeNami Design, and today we're featuring the super cute Spring Chicks Stamp Set PF38.

That adorable little birdhouse is my favorite image in this stamp set, so I decided to create a gift box using the birdhouse as my focal point. Have you ever tried DeNami Design's Gift and Favor templates? They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they're so super easy and lots of fun to use! Here, I used the Small Gift Box Template GF01.

I started by cutting the template along the solid lines. I flipped the template over, stamped the leaves from the Elegant Floral Stamp Set PF37 all over (leaving the top flap blank), and colored them with my Copic Sketch Markers. I stamped the top flap with Medium Polka Dots N136. Then, I scored the template along the dotted lines, applied double-sided tape to the side flaps, and assembled the box. Piece of cake!

I punched a fancy square from a scrap of white cardstock, stamped Leafy Sprig D108 in the center, added some faux stitching with a fine tip brown marker, and matted the square in blue. I stamped the birdhouse from the Spring Chicks Stamp Set PF38 on a white scrap, colored it with Copic Sketch Markers, fussy cut it and popped it up just below the Leafy Sprig.

The sentiment, Home Tweet Home D131, is a single stamp, but I inked each word up separately, so I could spread the words out around the front of the box.

I think this would make a sweet little package for a housewarming gift. It's not quite big enough to hold a gift card, but you could fill it with handmade magnets, tea bags, a cute keychain for the new house key, etc.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you like my creation! Be sure to visit the DeNami Design Blog to see what the rest of the talented DT made with the Spring Chicks Stamp Set PF38!!

Thanks

Hi there! Just wanted to pop in really quickly to share a thank you card I made! In my Shop 52 Denver post yesterday I mentioned that I purchased a decorated coffee scoop for our friends who invited us to their home to watch the Steeler game on Sunday. Since it was meant to be a gift, the store was kind enough to wrap it up for me! Look at this gorgeous package!!!

I used the wrapping as inspiration to create this thank you card:

The design on the wrapping paper reminded me of the Medium Solid Filigree E116 image from DeNami Design! So, I broke out the Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped the filigree image all over a kraft cardstock panel. Then, I added the diamond from Build a Border by Schlosser Designs. I think it creates a pretty cool pattern!

I placed the package, the card, and a bag of freshly ground coffee into a little metallic brown gift bag and TA-DA---all set!!!!

Season's Tweetings

Hi there! Today I'm sharing a card I created for the most recent challenge at DeNami Design.

Here's the sketch (created by the very talented Ayana):

And here's my take on it:

The Season's "Tweet"ings Chickie Scene (N120) is one of my FAVORITE holiday stamps by DeNami Design! I just love how the chickies are all decked out in their fuzzy Santa hats and boots!! And those chickies with the long legs always bring a smile to my face! HA!

I created the background panel by repeatedly stamping Falling Snow (E94)(DeNami Design) in Frost White Color Box ink (Clearsnap) on Kraft cardstock (PTI). Reminds me of Charlie Brown's Christmas---LOVE IT!

We spent the week of Thanksgiving in San Diego visiting friends! We had such a fantastic time! I hope you all had a wonderful  holiday as well---full of yummy food, good friends, family, and happy memories!

I started working on my holiday cards today (thanks to a fun-filled inky day with my sweet friend, Michele)!!! I'm a little behind schedule, but such is life, right? Do you make holiday cards? If so, have you made them yet?

Thanks for stopping by today! I know this is a super busy time of year and I appreciate you taking a break to visit!!!
