Cards For St. Jude

Hello! Today I'm sharing two more cards that I made for Winter's card drive for St. Jude Hospital!

The first card features the ADORABLE Playful Puppies Stamp Set PF30 from DeNami Design!!!

I stamped the puppies twice---once on the scallop heart and once on a scrap piece of white cardstock. Then, I fussy cut the ones on the scrap piece and popped them up on top of the ones on the scallop heart. Here's a closer look:

I added the Mini Heart A94 and Teeny Heart A91 in between the puppies---pure puppy love! The XOXO sentiment is from the Love Sentiments Stamp Set PF42!

The second card uses the little girl from Love Buds by Stampendous and Kazan's final sketch for 2 Sketches 4 You! Here's the sketch:

The patterned paper is from an Origami Love Notes set (Nick Robinson) that I purchased at Barnes and Noble ages ago! The sentiment is from the Love Sentiments Stamp Set PF42 by DeNami Design---don't you just LOVE that font?!?!!! And how about that glittery button?!?! That was in a pack of buttons that I won in one of the DeNami Design challenges last year!!! If you've never participated in the DeNami challenges, you definitely should! Gobble Gobble

On Tuesday I met up with my sweet friend, Michele, to get inky! We always have so much fun chatting and stamping together! During our crafty time I created a few Thanksgiving cards/projects. Today I'm going to share the card I created using Kazan's fabulous sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I used the Gobble, Gobble stamp set and coordinating die from Papertrey Ink. Isn't Mr. Turkey handsome?!?

I've had this set since August and this is the first time I've inked it up. Honestly, I have quite a collection of stamp sets that have not seen ink yet. I keep telling myself that I have to stop ordering things until I use what I have, but then every month (without fail) all of these stamp companies release the cutest things and I just can't resist. Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice (besides joining stampaholics anonymous *wink*)?

The image and sentiment are from "Just My Type" (Lawn Fawn)! I just love that funky little typewriter! And, of course, I had to paper piece it! HA! I left off the "for you" part of the sentiment, and then positioned my patterned paper strips so that the number 4 and the letter U could be "circled."

Happy First Day of Autumn! When I saw that the most recent challenge over at Embellish Magazine involved paper piecing I was so excited!! As you all know, it's one of my favorite techniques, and I use it all the time! So, I combined the colors & technique from the Embellish Challenge:

And here's what I came up with:

The image is "Better Get Better" from the Pure Innocence line at My Favorite Things. I love this little cutie! I paper pieced her dress, her stockings, and the heart in her hair with "Old World Cabbage Stew Paper" from Jillibean Soup. I also paper pieced her little teddy bear with a scrap of kraft cardstock that I had in my stash.

The strip at the top is washi tape that I purchased from The Tinted Mint. Love this stuff! It's so much fun to incorporate into projects!

I used a white gel pen to color in the bandages on the teddy bear. And the buttons are from Basic Grey. I was originally just going to use one (at the top), but then I couldn't resist putting those teeny tiny ones in the corners. HA!

I hope you are having a wonderful start to the Autumn season! And I hope you have a chance to get outside and enjoy all of the beauty this season has to offer! I went hiking with my neighbor this morning and it was fabulous! An absolute carnival for the senses! Nature is so remarkable!

Just Married 2 Sketches 4 You

I designed this card for one of my husband's grad students who just got married. Since she's in her early 20's I wanted to create something hip and fun!

I absolutely adore this love bug image from Papertrey Ink's "Enjoy the Ride" stamp set! It's so much fun to paper piece, and it comes with a number of different sentiments for the license plate.

I wanted to let you know that my friend chose the monkey invitations! Turns out she & her husband frequently refer to Jonathan as their little monkey! So cute! 2 Sketches "For You"

Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing a card I created using Laura's fantastic sketch for the most recent challenge at 2S4Y!!

I was so happy to finally have a chance to ink up my "Friendship Jar" and "Friendship Jar Fillers" sets from Papertrey Ink! LOVE LOVE LOVE these images! I'm looking forward to making LOTS more creations with these stamps!

I paper-pieced the "paint" on the brushes. If you follow my blog you know that this is one of my very favorite techniques. Then I finished them off with my Copic Sketch Markers. 

The patterned paper is from Webster's Pages. I've seen Courtney Baker use products from Webster's Pages on her blog, but have never owned any until now! Found it at Archivers recently and couldn't resist buying a pack of paper to try out!! I'm really happy with it!

Wavin' Hello

Hi there! This is the card I created for the most recent challenge over at 2 Sketches 4 You! It's based on this fabulous sketch by Laura Davis:

The dolphins, waves and sentiment are all from "Critters in the Sea" (Lawn Fawn)! I was so excited to finally have a chance to ink this set up a little bit! It's so darling! I can't wait to get the rest of those critters inky! 

All of the papers are from Papertrey Ink. The twill was actually tied around some kitchen towels that I bought yesterday. Gotta love packaging that can be put to good use! HA!

Today I went on a little adventure to the Boulder Farmers' Market! I came home with some organic/locally grown salad fixings and this hanging basket:

Celebrate Life

Hello there! Here's a card I created using the most recent sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You:

And here's the inside:

I used the "Round Leafy Tree" image from DeNami Design, which is one of my favorites! The idea was to capture the four seasons that bring magic and wonder to each year of our lives. (Note: I used a mask to create the leafless tree for winter.)

I added a little sparkle to each tree with a Stardust Clear Gelly Roll pen (Sakura) and added "snow" to the winter tree by applying white glitter to the branches. Thanks for that idea, Michele! Confession time: I originally tried a white "Souffle" pen, but it didn't give me the effect I was looking for. I was expecting it to be white and puffy, but it never really fluffed up---must be the altitude. Ha! 

The sweet little yellow & white baker's twine is from Whisker Graphics----LOVE IT!!!!!!

Happy Friday, dear blog friends! Just wanted to pop in and share a card I made using Laura's sketch over at "2 Sketches 4 You." I always LOVE their sketches and all of the inspiring samples created by their DT!!! And after I post my card I really enjoy heading over there and checking out what the other participants made! Talk about a group of talented peeps!! Can't wait to see what everyone came up with this week ;)

When I saw this image (Endless Creations) at a stamp convention recently, I just HAD to have it!!! I also just recently purchased some Tuxedo Black Memento ink (Tsukineko) to try out with my Copic markers. (Up to this point, I'd always used Onyx Black Versafine and just let my images dry overnight.) I have to say I was really pleased with the way the Memento ink stamped, and I colored the image about 10 minutes after stamping it! YAY!

I created the patterned paper with the coffee beans all over it by repeatedly stamping a group of five coffee beans (Art Impressions).

Even though I'm not a coffee drinker, I LOVE to hang out at coffee shops and enjoy a hot tea (especially on cold or rainy days)! Ahhhh...hot tea and a good book...pure bliss! I'm thinking I need to make another version of this card with a "to-go tea drink!"

Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! My cousin is visiting us from Pittsburgh! It will be her first time in Colorado, so we're looking forward to taking her hiking and sightseeing!

Hello! Here's a card I created using Kazan's most recent sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You! If you're looking for some serious inspiration, head over there and check out all of the amazing creations by the participants this time around---WOW!!!

I was so excited to have a chance to ink up one of my most recent purchases, "Just My Type" (Lawn Fawn)!!! This was my first time purchasing stamps from Lawn Fawn, and I have to say these stamps are wonderful!! They really ink up well and leave a crisp, clean image!

Of course I just had to paper piece that cute little typewriter---couldn't resist! And I love the way the sentiments fit onto the paper in the typewriter image!! So cool!

The background paper (that looks like a notebook) is from the "Basics White Paper Pad" by Basic Gray! Love it!!!

I created some of my own patterned paper with "Background Basics: Text Style II" (Papertrey Ink). Then, I cut the scallops using the "Medium Scallop Border Die" from Papertrey Ink. I felt like I needed a little pop of color/interest among the rufflies, so I decided to add a scallop border of polka dots and a scallop of black.

I honestly visualized this card last night while I was lying in bed having a hard time falling asleep. Does that ever happen to you? When do you get your best ideas for your cards and paper crafts?
