Happy {Heart} Day

Hey there! Here's a cute little Valentine that I created for Winter's card drive for St. Jude Hospital!

I used this FUN color combo from the most recent Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge:

and Laura's final sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You:

A non-traditional color combo for a Valentine's Day card, but wouldn't this be cute for a little guy to give to his mom, auntie, grandma or special friend?

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

You Warm My Heart

Hi there! Check out the colors for the most recent "Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge!"

Aren't they just so warm and cozy?!? On top of that, this week's sponsor is DeNami Design!! So, the lucky winner will win some DeNami goodies! YAY!

When I think of warm and cozy I think of hot tea or hot chocolate. I love the feel of that toasty warm mug in my hands. Here's my take on the inspiration colors:

I stamped the "Small Latte E96" (DeNami Design) three times and paper pieced them---aren't they adorable? Then, I inked up a portion of the "Steam Curl D87" (DeNami Design) and added it to the top of each mug. The criss-cross pattern at the bottom was created using the "Three Line Border N128" (DeNami Design). I just love that stamp---it's so versatile and lots of fun to use! The sweet little sentiment is from "Tea" by Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all of your sweet comments!!! Each and every one makes me smile!

Thanks For Everything

Hello there! This is a card I created using the ultra yummy color combo from the latest Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge and an amazing sketch from Taylored Expressions!

Here's the color combo:

And here's the sketch:

I created the background by repeatedly stamping the large and small violets from "Year of Flowers: Violets" (Papertrey Ink). Then I stamped the large violet on a scrap piece of cardstock, cut out its center, and attached it to the background with three french knots.

I used my Scor-Pal to score a border around the sentiment to give it a more finished look.

So...what do you think?

I also wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of your super sweet comments on the card I made for DeNami Design's Autumn Blog Hop! I truly appreciate it and promise to visit your blogs soon!

Bloom

This is the card I created using Kim's inspiration photo for the most recent Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge and Jen Del Muro's "Sketch For You To Try."

I used two of my favorite stamp sets from Practicing Creativity Designs: "For the Love of Dots" and "Barefoot Summer!" The ribbon is also a little something that Courtney included in one of my recent orders! Cute, huh? (Thanks, Courtney!)

I used VersaMark ink to stamp large dots on the light pink strip and small dots on the dark pink strip. I drew the stems in freehand. The sentiment fits perfectly in the label I die cut with Spellbinder's Labels Three.

Thanks for stopping by!

Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #21

Here's a card I created for Kim Wilson's most recent challenge over at Off the Wall Craftiness!

This is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

After seeing this inspiration photo, I just had to make something with the "Friendship Jar" and "Friendship Jar Fillers" sets from Papertrey Ink!! I am LOVIN' these sets! So much fun playing around with all of the possibilities!

I picked up a couple of sheets of patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's "DeLovely" line the last time I was at Archivers, and the colors were a good match for this challenge too!

I used my handy Scor-Tape to ruffle the ribbon, but then I fluffed up the loopies because I thought it gave it a sort of ribbon candy look! (Have you ever had ribbon candy? It's popular around the Christmas holiday.)

Here's a close-up:

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired at least a tiny bit!

Hello there! Challenge #7 over at Off the Wall Craftiness is to create a card/project using BIRDS. Here's what I came up with:

A few weeks ago I won "Card of the Week" over at 2 Sketches 4 You and part of the prize package included an incredible stack of BoBunny stickers from Shanna Vineyard! I have been itching to put these stickers to use since they arrived in the mail!!! The tag sentiment with the sweet little birdie is from one of these sticker sets ("Family Deerest"), and I thought it was the perfect starting point for this challenge!

The birdhouses (Hero Arts) are just stamped onto scraps of patterned paper and then cut out. A little ribbon, some twine, a button, and VOILA!

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #6

Good morning! Here's a card I created for the most recent "Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge!"

Here's the inspiration photo:

And here's my take on it:

I really love the brightly colored spots on the peacock's tail feathers, so I tried to mimick those with cardstock ovals and circles. I distressed the edges and inked them up to give them some dimension and more of an organic feel.

I used the "D'vine Swirl" Embossing Folder (Provo Craft) to create the swirly background panel. The animal print on the right is a strip of self adhesive ribbon from DCWV.

It's really quite bright and rather bold, but it's truly the product of free-flowing creativity. I honestly just tried to let myself go on this one. What do you think of it? I'd love to hear your feedback!

This challenge runs until May 13th, and Kim is randomly selecting TWO winners this time around, so you should DEFINITELY play along! Click HERE for the details!

------------------------------------

I also wanted to let you know that my sweet blog friend, Paulina, is giving away a $50 gift certificate on her blog, Pretty Pink Posh!!!! Click HERE to find out how you can enter for a chance to win this FABULOUS prize!!

Tea Party

I made this card based on Kim Wilson's inspiration photo over at Off the Wall Craftiness and Jen Del Muro's most recent sketch at i{heart}2stamp! I have been wanting to play along with Kim's challenges for weeks now and FINALLY had a chance to do so. There are SOOOOOO many fabulous and inspiring challenges posted each week, and I have such a difficult time trying to fit them all in. (Anyone else having this problem?) So, this time around, I combined a couple of challenges.

Here's the inspiration photo (click HERE for the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge details):

And here's the sketch (click HERE for the SFYTT challenge details):

And finally, some photos of my creation:

I absolutely LOVE tea (both hot and iced)! A dear friend of mine recently introduced me to Teavana!!! Oooooo...have you heard of it? It's a total "tea experience." The walls are covered with shelves full of gorgeous cast iron tea pots and tea cups. And when you walk in a staff person takes you around this beautiful space to sample different tea blends. Then, you can order a cup of tea to drink right away...or, you can buy the loose leaf tea blends to take home! If you're a tea drinker, it's heavenly!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a good week!
