Shop 52 Denver - Sixteen: {Nothing Bundt Cakes} and a Giveaway!

Hey there! Sorry I haven't been very active in blogland lately. On March 20th a wildfire broke out in our canyon. We were on evacuation standby for six days. It was a really scary experience, but I'm happy to report that thanks to the bravery and hard work of five dozen fire crews (some 400 fire fighters), the fire didn't destroy any homes and nobody was injured. If you know a fire fighter please give him/her a HUGE hug from us!!!

So, that was last week. Shweew! THIS week I've been super busy getting ready for visitors. My sister-in-law, her husband, and our three nephews will be arriving on Saturday and spending a week with us. It's going to be LOTS of FUN hanging out with them!

Now that we're all somewhat caught up on the crazy life of Lisa, let's get into our next installment of Shop 52 Denver and our March GIVEAWAY!!! YAY!

This week I'd like to introduce you to a YUMMY little shop, Nothing Bundt Cakes! (Isn't that a fun play on words?!?! Love it!)

I was introduced to Nothing Bundt Cakes a few weeks ago when my fabulous inky friends, Michele and Laura, gave me a couple of these delicious mini bundt cakes for my birthday!! Just look at this adorable package!

That's a carrot cake on top and chocolate turtle on the bottom---both were so incredibly moist and delicious----and the icing is to die for!! I just KNEW I had to go to this place and check it out in person!

The shop is GORGEOUS and smells so good! It's decorated in pastels and chocolate browns---very girly and whimsical! Colorful aprons, cake platters, and seasonal decor items (all of which are for sale) add warmth to the environment. And the staff are incredibly friendly! I wasn't permitted to take any photographs inside of the shop (thus the limited number of photos in this post). Unfortunately, they've had some trouble with people copying their concept. However, their website is full of beautiful photographs, so be sure to check it out. Click HERE! Nothing Bundt Cakes has franchises in other parts of the country, too, so you can check the website to see if there's one near your town. And if not...no worries...they ship nationwide!!

And of course, I couldn't leave the shop without a bundt! I decided to take the Red Velvet Bundt home for dessert that night! Dea packaged it up for me (LOVE their attention to detail):

After dinner my husband kept saying, "C'mon...Take your photos of that bundt cake, so I can taste it already!!!" HA! Here it is...my current favorite flavor!!!

Did I mention the icing?!?! That entire center is FILLED with it! Oh my goodness!

I hope you enjoyed this mini tour of Nothing Bundt Cakes, and I hope you'll check them out!

And since this is my last Shop 52 Denver post for the month of March, I have a GIVEAWAY!!! To enter, just leave me a comment telling me your favorite kind of cake! Easy peasy! And for additional chances to win, comment on my previous two Shop 52 Denver posts as well (the links are at the end of this post)! That means, you can have up to 3 chances to win! I put together this fabby little package of goodies that I bought at Artsy!!

You have until Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:59pm (mountain time) to comment! I'll randomly draw one name and announce the lucky winner on my blog on Saturday, April 9th! GOOD LUCK!!!!

6 days, wow. Glad your home and others are safe.
Finally, a cool store you post about, that I can go to here in Vegas. I've heard of how fabulous the cakes are, but never have gotten around to visiting. Maybe for Easter. Thanks for sharing the yummy pics.

I love the little cakes! I do love a good chocolate cake, but I think my favorite is cheese cake.

Wow, thank goodness you are okay! Firefighters do indeed deserve our appreciation; they do incredible work to protect us and our property. Nothing Bundt Cakes is so awesome! You've actually mentioned my two favorite cakes - carrot cake and red velvet cake - I need to post my red velvet cake recipe soon - it stays moist for days! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! :o)

Glad you and everyone else are safe. How terrifying and nerve wracking for you all.
Your Shop 52 segment may convince me to move to Denver - especially with this latest stop! Those cakes look super scrummy! However, while I am always impressed by cakes made from scratch, I must confess that my all-time favourite cake is good old cake from a box - Duncan Hines Devil's Food Cake with whipped vanilla frosting. Brings back happy childhood memories and one not so happy one - the year my parents had their pastry chef friend make me a fancy birthday cake and I had a temper tantrum because it wasn't my beloved box cake. *Sheepish grin*

Oh my glad you are ok! I have missed you, and I figured something was up, but glad to know you are safe, and yes, I am very thankful for those firefighters. Florida has their share of wildfires here, so we know all too well and are so appreciative!

Rats on the no pictures....I enjoy your post, but YUMMY adventure you had and your cake pictures have my mouth watering!!!. My Favorites are red velvet and chocolate! Enjoy time with our family! :-)
