Peace Hope Joy

Today I'm playing along with the most recent CASology Challenge. The theme is FESTIVE. When I think "festive" I think snowflakes and all of the magic and wonder of the holiday season---a perfect fit for this brand new sentiment from DeNami Design called Peace Hope Joy.

I've seen a few stampers in blogland use this technique of stamping images first in white ink and then stamping them again (slightly offset from the first image) in color. I thought I'd give it a try with the snowflakes on this card, and I have to say, I really love the results! Here's a closer look:

I also added in some little dots with a white gel pen for a little extra something.

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today! If you'd like to learn more about this technique Julie Ebersole has a video HERE and Dawn Woleslagle has a video HERE. (A big THANK YOU to these girls for their inspiration!)

Holiday Cheer

I am having SO MUCH FUN getting inky with the newest release from DeNami Design! (You can check out the entire new release HERE.)

Today I'm sharing a card I made for CAS on Sunday Challenge #46: Ribbon or Twine.

It's snowing here in the mountains, so I was inspired to create something wintery. Here's my card, featuring the brand new I71 Penguins In Igloo stamp:

I LOVE these little penguins!!! SO SUPER DUPER CUTE! And so trendy right now.

I created a 4.25" x 5.5" white card base, masked off a half inch border on each side and then stamped the Three Line Border repeatedly in red to make my stripes. They remind me of candy canes. I then cut a 3 3/8" x 5 1/2" panel from white cardstock. I stamped the image and sentiment and added color with markers. Then, I tied on some twine and adhered the panel to my card base with foam tabs. To finish, I added some dots of white enamel accents to look like falling snow.

Thanks for stopping by!

No Peeking

Today I'm sharing some simple tags I created using one of my FAVORITE images from DeNami Design's new release!!! (Note: You can check out the entire new release HERE.)

This, my friends, is the brand new CL-F245 No Peeking Circle Chickie! Isn't he absolutely DARLING?!?! And such an awesome stamp for whipping up super cute, yet super easy holiday projects!

I die-cut three tags from kraft cardstock. If you don't have a tag die/punch, you can cut pieces of cardstock to 1.5" x 2.5", snip the corners at an angle and punch a hole in the top. I stamped the CL-F245 No Peeking Circle Chickie three times in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto white cardstock and colored the images with Copic Sketch Markers. I used a circle die to cut out the images and adhered them to the tags with foam tabs. To finish, I tied on some baker's twine.

Here's a closer look:

You can use these tags to dress up your holiday packages or even use them as a focal point on a card.

What do you think??? I hope you like my project for today!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Catching Up...Photos From October 31st

Tony and I had a couple of neighbors over for a little Halloween get-together, and I wanted to share some photos of the fun foodie items we made.

Our neighbor, Katie, made a cake with oozing "blood" and spiders crawling all over it. And yes...it tasted as awesome as it looks! Our neighbor, Donna, made those frightfully yummy deviled eggs! In the back, you can see some broomsticks and pumpkins that I made from cheese and pretzel sticks. Here's a closer look at those:

We also had a boo-tiful selection of vegetables and hummus---including eyeball radishes, carrot fingers and creepy monster mouths.

For the main dish, we made some Mummy Mia pizza bread and oozing brain salads (basically a wedge salad---which I failed to get a photo of---sorry):

And, of course, some little gifties for our defrightful guests:

It was a really fun night!!!

Thanks A Latte

Hello there!

Have you seen DeNami Design's newest release? If not...you can check it out HERE. It's full of ADORABLE images and sentiments! I used the brand new Thanks A Latte sentiment on my card for today:

I absolutely ADORE the font of this sentiment, and it pairs up perfectly with the images in DeNami Design's Espresso Collection.

I couldn't resist paper piecing that giant mug with some argyle patterned paper---so comfy cozy! And I added a paper pieced heart at the top of the steam too for a touch of extra sweetness!

My layout is based on Retro Sketches #139:
