April Inspired By Feature

Hello there! It's time for DeNami Design's monthly "Inspired By" feature! This time around the DeNami DT was inspired by the fabulous Barb Murphy! Barb is such a talented stamper, and I absolutely LOVE this card she created:

I was inspired by the butterflies, the colors, the chevrons, and the way Barb stamped the hearts background to give it a more random look.

Here's my take:

I started by stamping the J16 Small Splatter onto a white cardstock base. I die-cut a rectangle from white cardstock and stamped the chevron border repeatedly to cover the panel. I adhered a tiny polka dot tab to the panel and adhered it to the card. I then die-cut a stitched rectangle and stamped the butterfly, curly q, and sentiment. I used markers to add some color to the butterfly and a Quickie Glue Pen to add a touch of glitter. To finish off I added a few of the super yummy 4mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and then adhered the completed panel to the card with foam tabs.

So...what do you think??? I hope you like my creation for today and feel inspired to get inky!

And...remember to check out the DeNami Design Blog to see how my fellow DT gals were inspired by Barb!!!

Have a FABULOUS day!

Buttons And Bows Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to your next stop on DeNami Design's "Buttons and Bows" Blog Hop! If you're on track, you've arrived here from the blog of the incredibly talented Stacey Schafer! If worries...just head to the DeNami Design Blog to start at the beginning.

For today's hop I decided to create a little baby shower favor using this absolutely DARLING "Little Duck" image, which was part of DeNami's most recent release! I totally {heart} him!!!

I attached my completed tag to a glassine bag (which I embossed with stripes). The bag could be filled with little mints or candies or even a little bar of handmade soap from a local shop (that would fit with a rubber ducky theme, don't ya think?!?!).

You could also easily change up the sentiment on the tag and attach it to a baby gift or adhere the tag to a card front for a super cute thank you note. Lots of fun options!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my project for today! I'm sure you'll be seeing more of this adorable little duck on my blog in the near future!!!

Be sure to leave a comment on this post and on each participant's blog throughout the hop! DeNami is giving away THREE gift certificates to their online store (ONE to a random participant and TWO to random commenters). All comments must be received by April 14, 2014 at 11:59PM PST.

Next Stop: Deb Fischer (I'm sure she has something super duper cute to share!)

Happy Hopping!

Bless Your Heart

I recently picked up a couple of new (to me) 6x6 paper pads from Crate Paper (GORGEOUS) and the brand new Stitched Butterflies Dies from Lil' Inker (ADORABLE)!

Challenge #7 at The Card Concept is to use a butterfly, so it's the perfect opportunity to put a couple of those new dies to use! And I also used this fabulous sketch from Seize The Sketch #17:

Here's my creation:

I layered the two smallest stitched butterflies and then looped some button twine around them (just like you'd loop your twine through a tag)! I LOVE how that worked out---and so simple too! The sentiment is from Heart Squared by Papertrey Ink. It's extra special to me because my grandma says it all the time! I am definitely going to make her a set of notecards using this sentiment----she will get a total kick out of that for sure!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Coffee And Friends

Popping in for a second post today to share my creation for the April Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) at Reverse Confetti! Jen's sketches are so fantastic! Check this one out:

I needed a birthday card for one of my super sweet neighbor friends who's a lover of all things nature-inspired and coffee related. Reverse Confetti's "Be A Barista" Stamp Set was the perfect fit! Here's what I came up with:

I simply can't resist paper piecing that adorable little mug! The patterned papers are from the Style Board 6x6 Paper Pad by Crate Paper (except for the black/white polka dot strip on the mug---that's from PTI's Bitty Dot Basics). And that fabulous gray twine is from Pretty Pink Posh! LOVE IT!!! It's so soft and easy to work with, and it comes in lots of yummy colors!

There's still time to play along with April SFYTT, so why not give it a go?!?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ink: Onyx Black Versafine (Tsukineko), Rich Cocoa Memento (Tsukineko)

Happy Thursday! Today I'm sharing a card I made for Wanna Sketch Challenge #14. Here's the super fun sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I LOVE the WTF Stamp Set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps! Soooo perfect for creating 40th and 50th birthday cards as well as belated birthday cards (WTF = who totally forgot)!

I delivered this card to my sweet neighbor friend, Katie, who just turned 40 on Tuesday!!!

Here's a closer look:

There's a border stamp in the set that's a row of dots. I cut the small solid dot and medium solid dot off of the end and used them as individual stamps to create a fun little pattern on my notebook panel. (Don't panic...that still left plenty of dots in the row to make borders with later...HA!)

What do you think???

Stamps: WTF (CAS-ual Fridays Stamps)
Ink: Onyx Black Versafine (Tsukineko), Cranberry (Amuse Studio)
Cardstock: White and Fine Linen (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: PrintShop! Collection (Studio Calico), Basics White Paper Pad (Basic Grey)
Punch: Round Binding Edge (EK Success)
Arrow Paperclip: Recorded Collection (Allison Kreft/Webster's Pages)
