Enjoy the Journey

Hey there! Popping in today to share the card I made for my husband's 40th BIRTHDAY!

Not only is the BIG 4-0 a milestone, but we have some incredible adventures on our horizon, so I wanted to create something EXTRA EXTRA special and meaningful!

I was roaming around Archiver's looking for supplies to create the perfect card when I came upon a new collection from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Paradise." I knew instantly that the earthy colors and images from nature were a PERFECT fit for Tony! And then, I saw this journaling card (from that same line) and TA-DA!!! The design ideas were flowing!

The focal panel of the card is actually a pocket that holds the journaling card! I made the pocket using patterned paper and my Martha Stewart Scoring Board! It was really easy!! Here's a peek:

Tony LOVED it!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Before I go, here's a quick look out onto our back deck today!!! We're in the midst of a winter storm! We have about 30 inches on the ground and it's still coming down strong! The news just reported that the system is moving really slowly and may stick around until 5am TOMORROW!!! (I wonder if we'll be completely buried by then?!?! HA! It IS GORGEOUS though!!!)

(It's difficult to capture the magnitude in a photo, but if you look closely  you can see that the snow is just about up to the handle of our sliding glass door which sits at 32"! And the ridgeline of the mountain across the canyon is barely visible because the snow is so heavy!)

I LOVE SNOW DAYS!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

What a fantastic card! I love all of the elements on it and it is such a great masculine card! The perfect card for a hubby! Hope you stay warm and that the storm has passed!

This card is amazing and your hubby would be a fool not to love it. The journal card and layout are perfect.

I am so jealous about your snowfall. That actually sounds so fun to me, having all of that snow as long as you are prepared for it. Sounds like alot of crafting is on your horizon, being all snowed in. We haven't had much snow this year. It has to be one of the warmest winters by far. I wonder if the storm will come our way.

Take care and make a snow angel for me!
