Just stopping by really quickly today to share a one-layer sympathy card I created.
The images and sentiment are from "Through the Trees" (Papertrey Ink). I stamped the trees in "Timber Brown StazOn" (Tsukineko) and added the little bird in "Potter's Clay Memento" (Tsukineko). Then, I inked "with heartfelt" in "Rich Cocoa Memento" and "sympathy" in "Potter's Clay Memento" and stamped the sentiment. I used the little Memento Dew Drops which are awesome for inking up parts of sentiments and images in different colors. To finish the card off I used a ruler and my brown Le Pen (Marvy Uchida) to draw the frame. I also distressed the edges of the card to soften it up a bit.
One-layer cards are SUCH a challenge for me, but I LOVE the idea of them because they don't require any extra postage or special packaging. Some of my blog friends can work total creative magic with a single layer (Kelley, Karen, Tina). And, I always love their work!! So...I'm determined to keep practicing and keep improving. I'll get there. Any tips/feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Have a wonderful Thursday!
