2S4Y - Laura's Sketch #50

In honor of Earth Day, I decided to attempt to create a card using repurposed materials and the most recent sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You! This time around the challenge is sponsored by DeNami Design, and there's a super fabulous prize up for grabs!!! You should DEFINITELY play along!!! Click HERE for the challenge details.

Here's the sketch (Laura's Sketch #50):

And here's my creation:

If you've ever ordered anything from Papertrey Ink (PTI), then you know all about the pretty packaging that the stamp sets come in. Well, last month when I received my order, I just couldn't throw that packaging in my recycling bin. I kept telling myself...there MUST be SOMETHING I can do with that stuff! Hmmmm...fast forward to last night.

I punched circles and cut strips of polka dotty goodness from the cardstock labels that were wrapped around the PTI stamp sets. The scallop is created from these circles as are the bicycle wheels and the circle next to the sentiment. The flag under the sentiment is from one of the polka dot strips.

I cut the border from the thank you postcard that accompanied my order and used it to create the accordian-folded strip at the bottom. Then, I stamped the bicycle image (from "Everyday Button Bits" by PTI) onto the back side of the center portion of the thank you postcard and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers. I traced a label template around the bicycle, cut it out, and then added my own doodle lines using a black fine tip marker and a green Copic Sketch Marker.

I stamped the sentiment ("Everyday Button Bits" by PTI) onto a scrap of kraft cardstock (PTI) and adhered it to the polka dot flag with some of the leftover edges from my pop dots sheet. Finally, I added the 1/4" border with a black fine tip marker & ruler.

What do you think?
