Birthday Pandas

Today I'm playing along with the most recent CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge :)

Here's the sketch:


And here's my take:


These little party pandas are super fun and I added some stenciled wonky stripes to resemble bamboo. I used Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to stencil the stripes---they are more lime green in person than they appear in the photo (unfortunately not the best lighting for photographing today). I also added sparkle to the stripes and the party hats with a clear Wink Of Stella glitter pen. Love the shimmer!

While I was at it I thought I'd make an aqua version too. While I was adding the shadow at the base of the bottom panda my Copic marker decided to "burp" and left a glob of gray...ugh. I was so disappointed after all of my stamping, masking, stenciling, etc. So, I decided to try to "save" the card by adding a border to the top and bottom. Turned out okay I guess:
