Gift Wrapping Idea

Happy Monday! I'm up on the DeNami Design Blog today sharing a cute and fun way to decorate a gift package. The idea is to create a hand-stamped gift wrap sash. This works especially well for wrapping up books and/or journals.

I cut a 3” x 16” strip of white butcher paper and stamped a bunch of images from DeNami Design’s newest release onto the strip (Note: The size of the strip will vary depending on the size of the item you’re wrapping.). Since I’m wrapping up a children’s book, I chose images that coordinated with the theme of the book. The fun part of this is that you can decorate the sashes any way you want to. If the gift recipient loves owls, you could use owl images. If it’s for a birthday, you could use cupcake and candle images. If it’s for a particular holiday, you could decorate the sash to go with whatever holiday you’re celebrating. Fun, right?!?!

Here’s a look at my sash:

I used markers to add color to the images and folded the sash along the long edges to create a nice clean look. To finish, I wrapped up a children’s book in kraft butcher paper, wrapped the gift wrap sash around it, and tied on some baker’s twine. Check it out:

So simple, but a great way to add a personalized touch to your gift wrapping!

Hope you like my project for today! Thanks for visiting!
