Hello! Just popping in to show you a card I made for the most recent challenge over at Just Us Girls. This time around it was a technique challenge---to create a "flap card." Click HERE for all of the deets!
To create the base for the flap card, I followed this tutorial over at SCS. It was really quite simple. I embossed some stars on the right hand flap and added a little twinkle with some star stickers. The moon embellishment on the curved flap is actually a magnet that is attached to the card via a self-adhesive magnetic square, so that the recipient of the card can keep the magnet as a little gift. The decorative magnets and self-adhesive magnets come in sets and are produced by Gray Duck Art. I purchased several different designs at Archivers.
Here's a close-up of the magnet:
Since this is a baby card, I used a blanket stitch around the the curved flap to soften it up a bit.
Here's a view of the inside of the card:
And a view of the card opened up. Perfect fit for a gift card for a new baby.
If you've never participated in the challenges over at Just Us Girls (JUGS), you should definitely check them out! Each week they have a different challenge alternating between sketch, technique, color, and template challenges! They are SO MUCH FUN!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! Let me know what you think! I absolutely LOVE reading your comments!
