Shop 52 Denver - Seven: {Tomte. Modern Craft}

Hi there and welcome to the next stop on the Shop 52 Denver tour! I'm super excited about this one, so let's get right into it!! Introducing: Tomte. Modern Craft!!!

Artists, Brett and Crystal, of Vital Industries opened Tomte as a place for showcasing handmade goods. Their store sells products made by local artists as well as artists they've interacted with at craft fairs throughout the U.S. I stumbled upon Tomte completely by accident while looking for a parking spot, and I'm SO THRILLED that I did!!! I met Crystal at the shop that day, and she is so super sweet and incredibly talented!

Let's take a look inside the shop.

I LOVE those printed dishtowels by Leah Duncan from Austin, TX! You can check out her website HERE!! And isn't the wallpaper totally FABULOUS?!?! I found myself wishing it was patterned paper so I could actually buy some!! Such a charming necklace display, too!

I really liked the look of these cards with printed images layered on pages from old books. Great inspiration for a rubber stamping project!

Playful display of clothing and scarves. And check out the super cute banner hanging in the window!!!

I was really drawn to the organic shapes and bright color schemes in these pieces.

These frames are so stinkin' cute! (If you follow my blog, then you know I'm a sucker for polka dots!! LOVE 'em!!!) They're made locally by Tim Willink of Windmill Woodworks! Tim makes picture frames and furniture from reclaimed wood, and his work is AMAZING! Check out his website HERE!

These glasses were my absolute FAVORITE thing in the store!! Something about those funky bicycles in all different colors and the silhouettes of the birds! So trendy and fun!!! They're the result of a team effort---Crystal helps out with the designs and Brett screen prints the designs onto the glasses. Here are a couple of close-ups:

They also had some of the shorter printed glasses filled with soy candles! When the candle is finished, the glass can be washed and used as a drinking glass!!! (Confession: One of those ended up going home with me...along with several other items...hint...hint!!)

LOVE the color combo on that pillow! GORGEOUS! And the use of the old suitcase to elevate some of the items on display is such a clever idea!

So...what do you think of Tomte. Modern Craft? I hope you enjoyed your visit! As a reminder, I'll be having a GIVEAWAY at the end of January! The prize will be something from one of the shops I've spotlighted this month in my Shop 52 Denver posts!! If you comment on each of my Shop 52 Denver posts for the month of January you will have 5 chances to win!!! So, if this is your first time visiting, you'll definitely want to check out my previous Shop 52 Denver posts as well and leave comments! Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Special Note: Tomte. Modern Craft is in the process of moving to a new location (4335 W 41st Avenue, Denver, CO 80212)! They will reopen at the beginning of February 2011 and I fully intend to pay them another visit!!! For more information and/or to sign up for their newsletter, click HERE!

Love all the glasses! Now, if my kids were just more careful with glasses, they would adorn my shelves...
